Room Hire

Update September 2021 – we are pleased to say we are now open and taking bookings following the relaxation of restrictions. 

Leicester Rowing Club facilities are available on Saturday evenings to hire for private functions including parties, evening wedding receptions and Christmas events.  Our function rooms offer a unique setting with a traditional twist and the background of the local waterways will add distinction to your event. A fully stocked bar with late license, wooden sprung dance floor, capacity for up to 150 people and ample free parking will all help to make your event a success.

           

Opening Hours

Early access can be arranged to set up for your function.

  • Saturday 7pm – 12 midnight

Please note that due to our opening hours we are unable to accommodate daytime events e.g. children’s parties, baby showers

Frequently Asked Questions

Q – How many people can the room hold?
A – The maximum room capacity is 150.  We are very flexible with the room setup meaning smaller numbers can be accommodated and still make full use of the space.
Q – What parking facilities do you have?
A – We have free parking onsite with enough spaces for approx 50 cars
Q – Do you have disabled and wheelchair access?
A – Yes we have a ramp to access the building, a lift to the first floor and a separate disabled toilet.
Q – What time does the bar close?
A – Leicester Rowing Club has a license until midnight.
Q – What payment facilities are available at the club?
A – We accept both cash and card/contactless payment.
Q – Is access available before the event to setup?
A – Yes, we can provide your own access to setup the rooms.
Q – Can we return the following morning to clean the room and collect items?
A – Yes, it’s a condition of hire that the room is left in the condition it was provided.  We can arrange access the following morning to save you cleaning up directly after your event.
Q – Can we hire a DJ or band?
A – Yes, a DJ, live band or similar entertainment is permitted.
Q – Are children allowed on your premises?
A – Yes, children are very welcome at our venue.
Q – Do you allow 18th or 21st birthday parties?
A – Yes, but with an £100 deposit.
Q – Do you provide tables and chairs?
A – We have a number of small tables and chairs in the bar area  along with 4 larger fold out tables suitable for laying out buffet food.  If you are planning a sit down meal you will need to hire them in, we recommend local company Bybrook Hire.
Q – What food preparation facilities do you have?
A – We have kitchen facilities suitable for preparing buffets and self-serving food.
Q – Can we hire in outside catering?
A – Yes providing they can operate within the space available.
Q – Can we provide our own drinks?
A – To comply with our license conditions all alcoholic drinks must be purchased at the bar.  The only exception being a catered sit-down meal where a corkage fee will apply per bottle of wine.  Soft drinks can be provided during a catered sit-down meal otherwise they need to be purchased at the bar.
Q – What options are there for playing music?
A – Our bar has a sound system suitable for playing background music.  In addition you are welcome to use our set of larger speakers and disco lights suitable for a DIY disco playing music off a laptop\phone.

Pricing

The evening hire cost is £200 which includes free parking and a bar staffed from 7pm – 12 midnight.

A £50 refundable deposit is required to secure your booking.

Availability

We typically require a minimum of 4 weeks notice of an event.  Any short term requests will be considered but can’t be assured of a booking.
