Fund Raising

Funds raised from one off events and hiring out the club bar go toward a defined project ranging from purchasing new equipment to boathouse improvements.  Project suggestions are welcome from all club members with the club committee voting on the current goal.

Current Project

Four pairs of Concept sculling blades to help all squads have access to good quality equipment during busy periods.  The project total to purchase four pairs of Concept Ultralight Vortex Edge 284-289cm blades comes to £1,880

  • October 2018 – £573.04 from function room hire (Caroline, Joanne & Freya,  Rob, Kim & Steve)
  • September 2018 – £411.15 from function room hire (Gualter, Sophie, Ben, Rob)
  • September 2018 – £100 from function room hire (Rob)
  • August 2018 – £502.61 from function room hire (Rob, Alex, Hazel)
  • June 2018 – £462.50 from bar & function room hire (Rob, Sam, Michelle, Dave, Pippa)
  • May 2018 – £74.85 donated
  • April 2018 – £100 from the Recreational Squad selling Pogies at Leicester Regatta especially Louise Johnson

A donation to the club can be made via the Leicester Rowing Club MyDonate page which allows us to claim back 25p per £1 thanks to GiftAid

Previous Projects

  • September 2017 – The Recreational Squad raised £1,946.20 for the purchase of the ‘J’ set of sculling blades for use by Junior & Recreational rowers by rowing the 50km Boston Marathon
