Joining Leicester Rowing Club

The next opportunities to join Leicester Rowing Club are updated here.

 Learn to Row Courses

We can only take on new members through a scheduled learn to row course due to the need to keep everyone safe on the water and to co-ordindate our volunteer coaches.   We welcome anyone into rowing via our Learn to Row courses but anyone joining needs to know that, compared to other sports, there is a significant time and effort commitment involved in rowing.

Our club vounteers will support you via coaching and training plans but it's not the kind of sport where you can only come down occasionally and still expect to get into a regular boat and progress.  We don't say this to put you off but there is a steep learning curve to rowing and all too often we lose new members due to the time, commitment and training needed to get to race level.  New members must be able to make Saturday morning training sessions and at least one evening training session during the week.
