Commencing 9.00am on the Grand Union Canal “Mile Straight” in Leicester City Centre. Racing takes place throughout the day with the whole course is open to the public, for more information regarding public access to Leicester Regatta check out our Race Day page.

Events

All Junior, Masters and Mixed events offered plus Open and Women's events at Novice, Intermediate 2, Intermediate 3 and Elite. Primary Events at 4+, 4x+ & 2x. 

All other events subject to demand.  Straight finals will only be run at the Regatta Committee’s discretion.   Masters: Please state willingness to handicap.

Where entries have been received but no direct competition is available we will contact you about the possibility of racing up a category.

Entries via British Rowing Online Entry only.  E-mail, postal and telephone entries will not be accepted.  Please include all details of boat sharing and doubling up with your entry.

Entries close Saturday 9th April 12:00 noon.

Fees

£8 Per Seat (excluding coxes)
£10 Payment on the day

Payment online preferred or cheques payable to 'Leicester Rowing Club' to be received by the Regatta Secretary before Saturday 9th April.

Important Notices

British Rowing Licenses must be available for all competitors.
Winners pots only on presentation of valid British Rowing license.
Competitors, boats and blades are strictly limited to 2 events only.
All doubling up MUST be advised with entry.  We always run to schedule

Safety and Organisation

We ask that all competitors and coxes have read the Safety and Organisation Plan which covers all aspects of the course, batch system and safety.

Leicester Regatta is held under the Rules of British Rowing and the British Rowing Rules of Racing will apply.  Row Safe’ A Guide to Safe Practice in Rowing will apply.

Due to the width of the canal the Regatta runs under a batch system. A batch of 6 to 8 races is held every 30 minutes with Competitors boating 30 minutes beforehand and marshaled above the finish line. After the previous batch has finished the crews then proceed up past the start, turn and are marshaled with their opposition. During the batch crews are started at roughly 2 minute intervals.
